Nankins are a docile and social breed, their history traces back farther than the 1500s and they are one of the few true ancient bantams left.
The breed is well known for being exceptional mothers, foragers and social to humans.
They are intelligent and can even be trained to do tricks, if given the time.
Hens are calm, nurturing and friendly, roosters are watchful, proud and sometimes protective.
Nankin roosters only come in a beautiful black tailed ginger color and the hens a lovely black tail buff.
