A DAY IN THE LIFE OF OUR HUMAN RESOURCES MANAGER As our Human Resources Manager, you have the essential role of ensuring that we have a capable and happy workforce.
You effectively administer all HR functions, including recruitment, selection, hiring, retention, training, development, performance management, compensation, benefits, employee relations, HR-related policy development and implementation, and HR regulatory compliance.
As a team player, you collaborate with other managers to create, manage, and update HR-related policies and compensation packages.
You also prepare and adhere to an annual budget.
One of your primary goals is to ensure that top talent is hired in a timely and effective manner according to company needs.
You manage full lifecycle recruiting from sourcing to onboarding.
This also means that you manage our employer and internal brand, ensuring that we are perceived as an employer of choice by both current and potential employees.
You facilitate positive employee relationships on all levels, providing leadership and guidance to managers, as well as coordinating training for all staff.
You recommend, plan, and coordinate employee events.
Your mission is to ensure excellent employee morale and high retention.
In addition to interacting with job candidates and new talent, you act as the primary point of contact for HR-related questions-always handling inquiries and changes with patience.
Part of your job is strategic, as you participate in the development and implementation of policies and procedures that will meet our business goals and advance our mission.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR OUR HUMAN RESOURCES MANAGER Bachelor's degree in HR, organizational development, business management, or a related field OR additional years of experience in a related field PHR or SPHR certification, desired 5 years of progressively responsible experience in HR 3 years of supervisory experience Experience in the utility industry or with an organization that is similar in size and scope Proficient computer skills Valid Virginia driver's license Driving record that is acceptable to our insurance carrier Ability to pass random drug screens Valid first aid and CPR certifications OR obtain within 6 months of hire Leadership ability Do you have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal?
